Diving in Unawatuna is excellent. This is one place where the Giant Ma Aori Wrasse (a.k.a. Napoleon) where can be consistently encountered. There are also many beautiful ship wrecks and dive sites with rocky formations covered with Black Coral.
When you dive in Unawatuna it is an amazing experience not to be missed by any diver visiting Sri Lanka.

Grouper, Snapper Emperor, Bonefish
Open Sea :
Indian Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel,Sheerfish, Kingfish, Barracuda, Baramundi, Queens Fish, Jackfish, Trevally, Tuna
Far Out :
Sailfish, Swordfish, Marlin, Shark
During dive boat excursions you often can see and, most likely, will be accompanied by schools of dolphins.
